We’re excited to announce the latest feature being added to Backup Ninja, a simple, secure, and cost-effective SaaS service you can use to backup the world’s most popular open source databases; locally or in the cloud. The new Backup Files and Directories feature now allows you to backup files and directories alongside your database backups. You also get an enhanced restore feature to support individual file restoration.
Disaster recovery requires not only the database backups, but it’s crucial to have critical system or application files and folders for a full restoration. To support this, we have enhanced our backup methods to include files and directories. Select files as the backup method and enter the GLOB pattern for your file directory and you are all set to create a file backup schedule for local or cloud storage. This feature release also includes the bartender command-line utility to verify backed files up to avoid any invalid file backups.
Another feature for disaster recovery support is our enhanced automatic restore of a files backup from a local or cloud storage feature. You get to select a specific backup and the file to be restored to a particular directory.
Key Points of the Backup Files and Directories Feature
Following is the summary of what the backup files and directories feature allows you to do:
